BOX LACROSSE overview

Originated in Canada, "Box" lacrosse is played in a roller hockey rink 5 vs 5  in addition to a fully padded goalie in a 4' x 4' goal.

The Box Game is fast-paced and physical because it's played in a smaller, enclosed space, requiring players to focus on improving quick stick skills and team passing to succeed.

When played properly, there is a heavy emphasis on various lacrosse concepts: stickwork, finishing, teamwork, physicality and transition.

As these directly translate to the field game, our coaches work with players to develop and enhance the necessary skills to excel throughout all of our programs.

FALL HIGH SCHOOL BOX LEAGUE

Welcome to the Riptide High School Box Lacrosse League.  This league is designed for competitive high school lacrosse players looking to sharpen their skills and improve their overall lacrosse IQ through the fun, fast-paced, and physical style of play that only box lacrosse can offer.

COMBINE

The league starts with a "combine" - an evaluation session where our coaching staff will run players through box-specific training, drills, and concepts culminating with a scrimmage at the end. Coaches will be evaluating players during this session in preparation for team drafts.

DRAFT

We will hold a draft and coaches will draft players to be on their respective teams

EQUIPMENT

Players are responsible for all of their own gear & water.  Players must have a helmet, mouthpiece, stick, gloves & arm pads to be eligible to play each day.  If you need equipment, please contact your high school head coach or Andrew White at Andrew@riptidelax.com.

Tennis Shoes are required for box lacrosse - NO CLEATS
