HIGH SCHOOL BOX LEAGUE

Welcome to the Riptide High School Box League!  This Fall program gives experienced High School players the opportunity train and learn box concepts, get drafted onto teams, and play a full season with Playoffs and Championship!

This year's High Box League will consists of 1 training session, 1 evaluation scrimmage,  followed by a player draft and 6-game season!

EQUIPMENT

Players are responsible for all of their own gear & water.  Players must have a helmet, mouthpiece, stick, shoulder pads, gloves & arm pads to be eligible to play each day. All players will get a reversible jersey with their registration.

Box lacrosse is played on a hard surface court so proper footwear would be tennis shoes/sneakers. We recommend a basketball shoe with ankle support.  (NO CLEATS)

BOX LACROSSE overview

Originated in Canada, "Box" lacrosse is played in a roller hockey rink 5 vs 5  in addition to a fully padded goalie in a 4' x 4' goal.

The Box Game is fast-paced and physical because it's played in a smaller, enclosed space, requiring players to focus on improving quick stick skills and team passing to succeed.

When played properly, there is a heavy emphasis on various lacrosse concepts: stickwork, finishing, teamwork, physicality and transition.

As these directly translate to the field game, our coaches work with players to develop and enhance the necessary skills to excel throughout all of our programs.
