The Riptide was created by Coach Andrew White to grow the game of lacrosse in Santa Barbara by offering local opportunities for players to learn the fundamentals, compete, and have fun playing the fastest sport on two feet.
Coach White grew up playing highly competitive lacrosse in Baltimore, MD before going on to play NCAA Division 1 lacrosse at Ohio State University and NCAA Division 3 lacrosse at Stevenson University. White moved to Santa Barbara in 2013 and coached at UCSB for four seasons with Head Coach Mike Allan. In 2017, he decided to focus on developing youth lacrosse players in Santa Barbara and founded Riptide Lacrosse.
Riptide specializes in offering field and box leagues, camps, clinics, private lessons and travel teams for the Santa Barbara community and surrounding areas. Our training emphasizes proper understanding and practice of the fundamentals, developing Lacrosse IQ, and enjoying the game.
Our focus is building a strong lacrosse community here in Santa Barbara while preparing players for their high school programs.
Led by local coaches with experience playing and coaching at the NCAA, MCLA, and high school levels, the goal of the Riptide program is to provide a fun, positive environment where players can learn, compete, and enjoy playing lacrosse with friends.
